Our AdVenture

            Our journey to SE Ohio began in school at Ohio University, where Jen and I met. Once you’ve been to Athens you’ll understand.  Great people, Great Food and Great Beer. (shout out to Jackie O’s).  When in school you get caught up with studying and heading uptown.  You can easily lose appreciation for the landscape that cradles Athens and all of Southeastern Ohio.   One nearby gem is Hocking Hills State Park.  Unfortunately, we never visited when we were in school.  Fast forward a decade later and that soon changed. 

            After time away from Ohio we returned which necessitated a trip to Athens.  Initially we would spend a night in Athens to reminisce and a night in the Hocking Hills area.  Soon thereafter we realized we were getting too old to bar hop and decided to forgo the overnight in Athens.  We would still hit up Jackie O’s, grab some grub, beer and swag and then head to Hocking for a two night adventure.  Not long after we found ourselves adventuring to Hocking for several long weekends and eventually weeks with families and friends.  We wanted others to see the beauty of Hocking Hills State Park.  Words can not describe the rock formations or the beautiful Canadian Hemlocks.  

            As our getaways increased we realized a weekend getaway of our own was necessary and finally took the plunge.  This is a site to document the process of building our cabin, the hard work of all who made it happen & hopefully a little education if you want to seek a similar adventure.
